Baboushka is a beloved figure in Russian Christmas tradition. According to legend, she declined the journey with the Wise Men to visit baby Jesus, citing the bitter cold. Overcome with regret, she packed her basket with gifts and set off to find Him, but never did. To this day, she continues her journey—visiting homes and leaving presents for good children, hoping each one might be the Christ child she missed.
