The perfect, quick and easy Gingersnap recipe that we all know and love.
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
1 tbsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
Extra sugar for rolling
Cream butter and 1 cup of sugar until light
Add egg, molasses and beat well
Combine flour, spices, salt and soda
Add to creamed mixture, blending well
Shape into small balls and roll in sugar
Bake at 325° F for 8 to 12 minutes. Makes 2 to 3 dozen cookies.
